EE STARS supports field trips, classroom enhancements, in-class projects, art projects, books and art materials, visiting artists. Approval is based on a number of factors including but not limited to whether the request fits the STARS Mission, available funding in a particular cycle, how many students are involved, and cost per student. The STARS Board also considers whether each grade level is being equally represented in the approved proposals to insure equitable distribution of funds. STARS meets to discuss grants completely and independently.  Some grants are partially funded.  If a grant is denied, STARS communicates why the decision was made.​
