Student Grant Recipients Total: 48

Estimated Award Amount: $867.45*

Thanks to a fully funded STARS grant award of approximately $868, visiting Tulalip Hibulb Cultural Center will be a highlight in Ms. Jarrel’s 4th grade and Mr. Ochoa’s 3rd/4th Grade Classes’ Native American Unit on NW Native Tribes.

This field trip includes a tour of the cultural center, visiting a real longhouse and learning about different native artifacts from the NW Native Tribes. Students will see how local, current Native Americans such as the Tulalip Tribe are celebrating and sharing about their cultural background, showing students how important remembering our history is. In addition, students will get a closer look at the life-giving resources, tools and methods of the Tulalip people through a variety of hands-on activities and touchable artifacts.
