Making Waves: A Schoolwide Art Project Takes Shape

Students craft salmon, mosaics, and meaning in a collaborative courtyard makeover

Student Grant Recipients Total: 303

Estimated Award Amount: $2432.54*

Students across all grades come together to transform the school courtyard through a collaborative art project designed to last for years to come. Using clay and mosaic, students create salmon, orcas, bird baths, and benches inspired by Native American traditions, local storytelling, and gratitude for natural resources. Each grade contributes in a meaningful way—building artistic skills, learning about culture and environmental care, and seeing their work become part of a shared space. With durable materials and plenty of teamwork, this project turns learning into a visible, lasting celebration of community.
