Building Strong Readers, One Letter at a Time
Kindergarteners use alphabet tools at school and home to build early reading skills
Student Grant Recipients Total: 54
Award Amount: $177.80
Learning to read starts with knowing letters and their sounds—and this grant puts that learning right into students’ hands. Kindergarteners use alphabet cards during reading instruction and take matching sets home to keep the learning going with their families.
Because the materials look and feel the same at school and at home, students gain confidence as they practice. Families also receive simple ideas for using the cards, making it easy to support learning outside the classroom.
This hands-on resource helps students build early reading skills, encourages family involvement, and supports a strong start to literacy for every kindergartener.
