$25K Funds More Paraeducator Support

Two added paraeducator hours help support students across classrooms amid district staffing cuts

Student Grant Recipients Total: 304

Estimated Award Amount: $25,000

This grant provides two additional paraeducator support hours each school day during the 2025–26 school year, helping classrooms meet student needs during a time of reduced district staffing. With the loss of 6.5 paraeducator positions last year, these added hours help bridge a critical gap and ensure students continue to receive meaningful academic support.

With $25,000 in funding covering salary and related costs, paraeducators support students through small-group and one-on-one instruction in reading, writing, math, and other academic areas. In literacy, this includes targeted help with comprehension, fluency, and phonics, while also offering reinforcement where students need it most.

Teachers and administrators collaboratively determine how support time is allocated based on assessments and student needs. These additional hours strengthen classroom learning environments, promote inclusion, and help teachers better meet the diverse needs of students across Edmonds Elementary.
