5th Graders to Participate in National Law Day

5th graders from across the district tour the local courthouse to see how the
legal system is put into practice.

Student Grant Recipients Total: 28

Award Amount: $250

This year's 5th graders joined approximately 750 fifth-grade students from the Edmonds School District and participated in four events to commemorate, educate and celebrate the legal system. The theme for Law Day this year was “Cornerstones of Democracy: Civics, Civility, and Collaboration.”

EE STARS awarded the transportation cost $194.24, which are the only costs associated with this field trip.

Law Day is a national event, held annually. These programs help students develop a deeper understanding of our legal system, foster a positive relationship between the students and law enforcement, and give students early exposure to career opportunities.
