5th and 6th Grade Outdoor School at Cedar Springs

Students received hands-on lessons in outdoor survival and collaborative activities.

Student Grant Recipients Total: 65

Grant Award Amount: $343

Cedar Springs hosts an Outdoor School and has staff on site to teach students outdoor survival skills through rotation stations. Students work together in a unique environment to learn. Families can attend and support as Chaperones. This is an eagerly awaited rite of passage for 5th and 6th graders. This grant is usually awarded every two years allowing students to experience outdoor school as a 5th or 6th grader.

This year with limited funds, we were able to fund the transportation cost of $343 while students and families paid for the direct camp cost, including t-shirts. In previous years STARS has been able to help contribute to the camp cost and we are hopeful with your support we can make that a goal again.
